A Brief Tour...
The area of Belinik has always been a troubled region. Makita, the largest town in the area and the residence of its various leaders, has been destroyed many times by both Servosan and Northgate forces alike.

With the end of the war and the establishment of the Shire of Belinik, the region is now being given the chance to rebuild itself.

Unfortunately, the populace has been sorely unprepared to combat the waves of famine and drought that have swept through the plains of the land.

Belinik, situated at the foot of a great mountain range, is a sweeping, gently graded plain. Normally as part of the thawing in spring, the region receives melt water from the mountains. The melting ice brings with it new, mineral rich soil. This season, the melt was thought to be substantially less than in previous years. Investigators are currently looking at the conditions in the mountains.

Major Barbanik, recently away on business regarding the ending of the war, could not be present for the initial stages of the rebuilding. Without an active leader, Barbanik's advisors were forced to seek aid from Hero's Reach, under command of Major Brent, and all those who could lend help.

Upon Major Barbanik's return in June of 1009 A.L., the proper steps are now being taken to coordinate Belinik's healing and combat the natural disasters plaguing the struggling Shire. The severity of the drought caused a rapid depletion of stored supplies in this otherwise normally prosperous land. Recovery stragities are being implemented, as well as plans to ensure a disaster of this magnitude will not have such an impact ever again.
