2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00daveWe have decided to cancel Sibcon this year. There are just too many unknowns at this point and we don't want to risk another large financial loss.We will miss everyone and hopefully 2021 will be the start of another long run of cons. Thanks to everyone and be safe.Dave SchnurRe: SIBCon Quest Point Raffle winners

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00daveHey All This is a call for DM help at the con, especially for the D&D Adventurers League 5ed. Even one or two slots would help, especially the higher levels. If you are interested, the schedule is up and I am asking for volunteers!Hopefully the schedule will work for you, but if not, we can work something out. If demand is high, I will add more tables of scheduled events, but not different events.DM rewards for 2017!1. Run 1 – 2 slots: Receive a $5 token per slot that can be used for food, vendors, auction, etc. Anything on site.2. Run 3 slots, you get a free badge to the convention. 3. Run 4 – 7 slots: Free badge and a $5 token for the 4th and each additional slot up to $20.Those of you that are veterans of this process can ignore the rest. I am including instructions for folks that may not understand how all this works. Please note: you are responsible for your room reservations. Neither I nor Circle of Swords are paying for your room!Follow these steps to register to judge at the convention.1. Go to www.circleofswords.com and create an account or log in to your existing account (it’s free).2. Go to [https://.warhorn.net/]https://.warhorn.net and create an account, or log in to your existing Warhorn account.a. Go to https://www.warhorn.net/events/sibcon-22 and register for the convention. If you are going to run three or more slots, sign up for the “Judging 3+ slots” option, which costs you $0. Mention in the comments section that you are judging D&D Adventurer’s League for me, so I can find you fast and get you approved quickly.b. Once you receive your confirmation email, return to Warhorn, scroll through the event schedule, and sign up to DM your slots. c. Sign up for any other games you may want to play. Keep checking back as games may still be added to the schedule. Thanks Dave Schnur 724-283-1159Re: Sibcon Raffle Winners

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00IsmarI'm thinking of running a 3-round tournament for Bolt Action on Sunday. It will be a low point cost, probably between 750 - 1,0000. I'll also have a couple of loaner armies for any new players that want to participate but don't have minis. I'll be requesting prize support from Warlord, and they are usually generous. Who would be interested and able to participate? I'm trying to guage an interest level. ThanksDonSibcon Garb winner

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00Ron RIt's time to clean out your gaming closets for the SibCon charity auction for Connecting2Tommorrow, Inc. Any new or gently used games (RPG, Board, Computer or miniature wargames) and other items of interest are welcome at the charity auction! If you have some games or items around the house that you think would help raise money for this good cause while cleaning out your clutter, please bring them to the con! If you are part of a group that would like to bring a gift basket/box or gaming related item for the raffle, please get in touch with Dave, Luke or myself so that we can credit your group's donation in the convention booklet too.Connecting2Tommorrow, Inc. is a Butler county based charity that helps mentor kids to reach their full potential. 2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00IsmarI know I'm late to the party, but I was thinking of running a minis event (or two) this year at SIBCON. Of the following, what would be the most interesting. • Bolt Action • Robotech RPG Tactics • Classic Battletech, Alpha Strike (poker run) • GW Lord of the Rings • Large scale Full Thrust, Battlestar Galactica themedI would be able to provide all the minis for these events, so that's why I picked them.Thanks,Don2014 Aftermath

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00CascadeBoth the new 5E and the Pathfinder have introductory characters (or pregens available).5E is the newest and you'll most likely be sitting with a lot of new players.Pathfinder (PFS) is more mature based upon 3.5 but has a much wider diversity in play if you like living campaigns.Re: SIBCON Game suggestions
https://www.circleofswords.com/main/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?24246.post
2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00Ron RAny of the "Living" campaigns love to welcome new players, and usually offer help to create a character (look for a Welcome game or just ask any of the players). Once you make and understand a character, you keep that character for future games. These games are:Fantasy games-COSWorld games, D&D Next Adventurer's League, Pathfinder, Living Forgotten Realms (LFR is going away due to D&DNext)Scifi-Shadowrun Missions (kind of like a future version of a D&D world) Star Wars Living GalaxyLARPCOSVamp - If you prefer LARPS it has very easy game mechanics and you get grouped with players to help you get into the gameFor board games, Wynner's Circle Games is running a tournament at the convention. I'd give it a try.SIBCON Game suggestions

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00Collin StoverI am going to be attending the upcoming SIBCON, I'm looking for suggestions on what I should play. I am not too experienced with tabletop games ( only having really played 4th edition D&D ). I also attend Quest every now and again. I am looking for board/tabletop games that are good for beginners and easy to get into, any suggestions are appreciated.Artemis - Spaceship Bridge Simulator

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00Rulian TsevHello everyone. I will be running this game again on Saturday for most of the day. People are welcome to drop in and drop out of playing as we go on. I hope to have multiple bridges set up if I can get the space and keep the equipment running. If we can get some groups of people interested, perhaps we can setup some PVP or Coop scenarios for multiple ships! For those who are not familiar with Artemis, here is a brief introduction...Artemis is designed for anyone who watched Star Trek and dreamed of what it would be like to sit on the bridge of a star ship. Artemis simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together. You cannot play Artemis single-player! One computer runs the simulation and the "main screen", while the others serve as workstations for the normal jobs a bridge officer might do, like Helm, Communication, Engineering, and Weapon Control. Artemis is a social game where several players are together in one room ("bridge") , and while they all work together, one player plays the Captain, a person who sits in the middle, doesn't have a workstation, and tells everyone what to do.And here are some nice videos showing how the game plays out.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7GOxWrSXVU&list=PLSG6zIL49WVr1AsHhf06O9OEu6dhSVWco&index=4Let me know what you guys think!Re: Come Join Wynners Circle Games as we present Squish

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00TheWynnerI will be running tournaments at SibCon 19 with prize support. Squish is a simple family style dexterity card game. All ages can play this game of bug Squish-ery. The game starts with the first player tossing all of the bug cards in the air and letting them fall where they may. Then players, in turn order, drop boot cards from shoulder height in order to squish those bugs. Different bugs have different point values and the first player have 10+ points at the end of a round is the winner but beware because your friends can step on your toes and take your points! Hope to see some of you guys there. I will be posting some updates with prize support and maybe a how-to-play video so you can have an idea on how it works before you sign up. Thanks everyone for your time and hope to see you there!Pathfinder (PFS) at Sibcon

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00CascadeIt's looks like we'll be running the end of season 5 special at Sibcon as well as the season 6 special premier. They'll be kicked off at Gencon and then we'll bring them to the area so if you happen to be at Gencon and play them, please help judge. If not, wait the 4 weeks and play 'em at Sibcon. We should have a tentative event list soon.A lot is changing with season 6...it looks fun so far. So new or old, it's a good time to get in...Re: COSWORLD

2024-03-29T00:53:05-04:00LucasOn a side note, I know Terry gets pretty geeked about the game as well, so he may have a regular group of folks that he can tell you about as well. I think he hasn't had a chance to upgrade to the v2.0 though.
